EXPLORING NANJING
After some weekend trips, it is time to rest and explore the city I live in... It usually happens that what is closer to us stays unknown, and it shouldn't be like that.
This morning we went to the Lion Rock Temple, where the we visited the Yuejiang Tower. Nowadays the Tower is used as a tourist attraction and as a "museum" about the Ming dinasty, one of the most fruitful dinasties in China's history. On top of that, once up there you can enjoy a nice view of the city's skyline and the Yangtse river.
THE ONE TO "BLAME"! ;)
Wednesday evening when I came back to my dorm after eating some very tasty meat dumplings, I found a very nice surprise. Mei, my chinese teacher in Vic was in the city and came to my hotel to give me a surprise while I was away. I was very surprised anyway when I found the note she left me, and I called immediately so we could meet.
Next day we went for dinner to a restaurant where, with those who finally come to visit, we will go to, because I really liked it. It was avery nice and special evening, because if I am in Nanjing and not somewhere else, it is because of her advice, and I'm really happy with the choice. In other words, the evening was a mixture of gratitude from my part and pride from hers because she saw that I really enjoy my stay here...

DELICIOUS!
Yes, eating in China is really cheap. But we need to understand that, in general, the concept of restaurant is pretty different. When in other articles I used the word functionality I should have related it to restaurants. "Quality" and speed are the base of any chinese restaurant. If there no table cloth, glasses are paper cups or the waitress is on some sort of pijamas and sleepers... all these details are veeeery secondary.
And since nothing explains it better than an image, here you have an example of one of the restaurants we usually go to. In fact, we could say it is a garage turned into a restaurant, but their noodles are just incredible, and they cost 5 yuan (70 cents). On top of that, as you'll see in the vídeo, their home-made and fresh as can be! What else can you ask for?!
