Un cop arribats a la segona ciutat de Liaoning, ens va cridar l'atenció un cartell que deia: "Benvinguts a Dalian, la ciutat romàntica de la Xina". I el cert és que fins i tot abans d'anar-hi ja havíem sentit comentaris similars. El perquè, d'entrada no el vam saber veure....
Dalian és una ciutat neta, moderna, de costa, no massa gran pels estàndards xinesos, i s'hi menja molt bé. Ara bé, romàntica? Més aviat no. O això ens va semblar, fins que vam arribar a la platja. He de dir d'entrada que les platges xines poc tenen a veure amb les nostres. Per dir-ho d'alguna manera, se'n treu molt més profit. Algun dia hi entraré amb detall, però l'aspecte que ens va cridar més l'atenció i el que ens va fer deduir el romaticisme de tot plegat, van ser el munt de parelles fent-se les fotos de casament. D'entrada, com a la majoria de coses en aquest país, les parelles hi arriben en massa. I no els ho vam preguntar, però espero que no fos el dia del seu casament, dedueixo també que les fotos es fan abans, perquè sinó, haver de fer cua el dia que et cases per fer-te les fotos pertinents, jo crec que tindria tela fins i tot a la Xina! La conclusió final: es podria dir que els casaments en massa fan de Dalian una ciutat romàntica. La pregunta és: es casen a Dalian a raó d'aquesta fama, o aquests casaments li han donat aquesta fama? I què va ser abans? l'ou, o la gallina?

Once we arrived at the second city of Liaoning, a sign caught our attention: "Welcome to Dalian, the romatic city of China". And I have to say that even before going there I had already heard that comment. At the beginning though, we couldn't see why...
Dalian is a coast city. Clean, modern, not too big according to chinese standards and it's a great place to eat. But romantic? We didn't think so. Until we got to the beach. To start with, I need to say that chinese beaches don't have much in common with ours. One day we'll talk about this more in detail, but less just say it looks like they make much more of it. In any case, the aspect that caught our attention and that made us see all the romanticism was the amount of couples having their wedding pictures taken there. Of course, as in almost everything in this country, couples arrived in groups. And we didn't ask them about it, but we hoped that day wasn't their wedding day. Our guess was that they took the pictures previously to the wedding. Otherwise, having to queue on your "The" day to have your pictures taken, I believe it's too much, even in China.
The final conclusion: We could say that all these weddings make Dalian romantic. The question is: do they get married in Dalian for this reason, or did the weddings give Dalian fame? And what was it first? The chicken or the egg?
